YouTube: Trump Announces Policy Plan

Monday night, Trump, once again, uses social media to communicate his policy plan and transition into the White House. Topics included: Protectionism; pulling out of TPP (Sander’s supporters agreed, but it clears the way for China to take control of the Asia-Pacific.); cancelling energy restrictions (environmental nightmare) in favor of clean energy–including shale and clean coal; and on immigration, Trump plans to investigate abuses of the visa program.

-Trump talks about protectionist intent. Production will happen “on our great homeland, America”. (FYI, nationalism defined by Merriam-Webster: a feeling that people have of being loyal to and proud of their country often with the belief that it is better and more important than other countries.)

-He intends to pull out Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement. He is in favor of bilateral trade agreements that favor America. (This means, China, a country that was excluded from the deal, now will not only be include, but it is slated to usher in it’s own deal.)

-He will cancel job-killing restrictions on clean energy, including shale energy and clean coal–“creating many millions of high paying jobs.”

-For every one new regulation, 2 old regulation must go.

-National Security: Develop comprehensive plan on “cyber attacks and all other attacks.”

-Immigration: “Investigate all abuses of visa programs that undercut the American worker.”

-Ethics Reform: Impose 5 year ban on American officials becoming lobbiyst after leaving administration and life-time ban on officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.
